Participants will acquire practical skills to identify microaggressions.
Participants will learn about long term impact of microaggressions on students.

Students who represent minoritized groups may encounter uncomfortable situations when they experience other students making offensive comments disguised as jokes about a group in which they belong. Overtime this seemingly “harmless” jabs can cause serious long term negative consequences including heightened anxiety and depression. These comments are called microaggressions. This workshop will help practitioners unpack the various behaviors associated with microaggressions and understand ways to help students cope after experiencing microaggressions.
