Education research helps to improve professional practice in education and inform education policy. This research addresses educational equity in order to improve the quality of education all California students receive by supporting educators. Participants will have the opportunity to experience the results of research aimed at understanding how we manifest a future in which the urban teacher shortage in California no longer exists via the exploration of  compassion fatigue and the teaching profession. Participants will ponder together what implications this research has for the teaching profession, policies to address the teacher shortage and for improving teacher retention. Participants will also be asked to consider what they could do to address teachers' compassion fatigue.
