Building a positive school culture on any campus first starts with building relationships. This is not a program to change school culture- but rather an investment of time, effort and energy in implementing a systematic approach to building a school culture of safety (physically, emotionally, and socially). As the principal of a continuation school, let me share with you how we have manged to create the most supportive and positive school culture with the most at-risk kids.
Participants will be introduced to ACEs and the effect that trauma has on the learning brain. Participants will understand that school culture is the result of a targeted, intentional approach to building relationships and gaining trust. Participants should expect to walk away with some immediate "take aways" to include simple practices that can be utilized immediately on their school campus.Expect to participate in a dynamic conversation as well work together as professionals to build up our school cultures!
