Schools face an increase in students with anxiety, depression, trauma, and other mental health issues. Participants will learn essential steps to ensure students with mental health impairments are provided the supports to which they are legally entitled. We will discuss when to initiate a referral for special education, how to evaluate students, how to develop legally-defensible mental health goals, and what services and supports may be necessary, including residential placements.
