Limited Capacity seats available

This workshop will describe Project Cal-Well’s three-component approach to addressing student mental health and wellness for California’s K–12 students. Funded by SAMHSA and led by the California Department of Education, Project Cal-Well implements programs statewide and in partnership with ABC Unified School District, Garden Grove Unified School District, and San Diego County Office of Education. Participants will learn how to use our model to improve school climate for school-wide prevention, increased access to school-based mental health services, and enhanced community collaboration. Replication strategies, including funding options, lessons learned, and newly developed resources will be shared.

1. Explain successful school-wide strategies to improve school climate and student well-being.

2. Describe specific strategies to increase students’ and school staff’s awareness of mental health and expand access to mental health services.

3. Receive statewide resources and local tips in replicating this model to your school.
