Mental health problems are a leading national impediment to academic success among college students. In order to foster a campus community which empowers students to prioritize mental health, we need to create accessible, safe and student-centric resources available 24 hours a day. This presentation will offer low-cost/high return on investment strategies, evidence-informed practices, and a public health approach to fostering skills regarding help seeking behavior and promoting student mental well-being.
Learning objective 1: Participants will be able to identify two strategies to address mental well-being using a public health approach.
Learning objective 2: Participants will acquire the skills to apply a socioecological lens in order to prioritize policy and institutional practices in addressing the mental health needs of their community.
