The Connection Practice is a scientifically-based, social-emotional skill proven to resolve conflicts peacefully as it efficiently moves students from being reactive to being resourceful. Rita Marie Johnson will demonstrate new Connection Practice magnetic boards and biofeedback software that take social-emotional learning to a new level.  No one combines empathy and insight like those who use this practice, which received the Ashoka Changemakers Innovation Award, chosen from 79 projects in 32 countries. Documentation of 50,000 students who have learned it is an underestimate as teachers continue to offer it to new students.

Many schools are overwhelmed with the needs of at-risk students.  When the Connection Practice is integrated into schools and considered as important as reading, writing and math, the number of at-risk students will decrease radically because they will have learned how to manage their inner lives.
